The Osh State University team participated in the national tag rugby championship held in Bishkek. Seven teams competed in the tournament, where the recently formed Osh State University tag rugby team displayed outstanding performance, securing third place.
Established just a year ago, the Osh State University tag rugby team currently comprises 10 players, mainly consisting of students and faculty members from the Faculty of Physical Education. The team's coach is Shumkarbek Oken uulu.
In previous competitions, both the women's and men's teams representing Osh State University achieved notable results. They attained fourth place at the Asia Championship held in Tashkent and recently clinched second place in the tournament held in Andijan.
Rugby is recognized as an Olympic sport, and the team's coach expresses aspirations to integrate it into the university's sports program, aiming to cultivate widespread interest among students.
