On May 18, the rector of Osh State University held a meeting with students from the International Medical Faculty to discuss the creation of an operational headquarters, led by the rector, focused on ensuring the safety of foreign students.
Safety measures are being coordinated with local authorities, the Internal Affairs Directorate of Osh city, and security services. Lecturers are on duty, psychological services are available, and specialists from the Osh State University Medical Clinic are involved in the efforts.
Currently, student and lecturer volunteers are on 24-hour duty, maintaining constant communication with foreign students and delivering essential products to them. Following directives from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and Osh State University, foreign students have transitioned to online education. The university has set up four call centers to handle inquiries and provide assistance. Foreign students have expressed their gratitude on social media for the care, security, and attention they have received.
