OshSU Hosts International Conference Celebrating 70th Birthday of Abdygany Abduvaliev

Osh State University is hosting an international scientific and practical conference today, September 26, to mark the 70th Birthday of Abdygany Abduvaliev, a distinguished figure in Kyrgyzstan’s education sector. The event also celebrates his 50 years of contributions to scientific and pedagogical work.

Attendees include local authorities, renowned scientists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and various regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as university rectors, colleagues, and students. They congratulated Abduvaliev, highlighting his humanitarian efforts, active career, and scientific contributions.

The Rector of Osh State University, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, praised Abduvaliev’s lecturing abilities and his role in advancing the institution. Kozhobekov recalled meeting him as a student and emphasized how Abduvaliev’s guidance and leadership greatly influenced his own development. He noted that the university’s strong reputation is partly due to professors like Abduvaliev, whose critical insights have contributed to its growth.

Throughout the event, scientists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Bishkek presented their research. Additionally, Professor Samandar Iskandarov, a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, was awarded the title of “Honorary Professor of OshSU”. In the afternoon, sessions focused on reports related to mathematics, physics, and information technology, culminating in the adoption of a resolution.

Abduvaliev has held prominent positions at Osh State University, including department head, dean, and first vice-rector for academic work and information technology. He is a recipient of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Kyrgyzstan, holds a candidate degree in physical and mathematical sciences, and currently serves as an associate professor in the department of applied informatics and information security. Over his career, he has authored five teaching guides and more than 40 scientific and methodological articles.
