Sports: Osh State University student wins boxing tournament
A student from the Institute of Natural Science, Physical Education, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies at Osh State University, Bayaman Azizbek uulu, triumphed in the international boxing tournament held in Osh, securing first place in the under-60 kg weight category. The runner-up was Marlen Zhunusbek uulu, a student from the Institute of Economics, Business, and Management of OshSU. Third place was claimed by students Nursaid Iminzhanov, Islam Turgunov, and Daniil Zhumabaev.
Bayaman Azizbek uulu was also honored as the “Best Boxer of the Tournament,” while his coach, Beganas Sultanbaev, received the title of “Best Coach.” The athletes were prepared for the competition by respected coaches of the Kyrgyz Republic, Turdaly Omorov and Beganas Sultanbaev.
This international boxing tournament, which took place from October 15 to 19, 2024, was organized in memory of the esteemed coach Samarbek Bapanov and featured over 100 competitors from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.
