USA: Osh State University Faculty Present at CIES 2025 Conference

Toychu Kabylov, head of the Romance-Germanic Philology Department at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Osh State University, and faculty member Maksat Totobaev participated in the CIES 2025 conference, which took place in Chicago, USA, from March 22 to 26.

Toychu Kabylov delivered a presentation titled “Education in Kyrgyzstan: Challenges and Prospects” in collaboration with Professor D. Shamatov from Nazarbayev University and AUCA Dean D. Karabaev. Meanwhile, Maksat Totobaev discussed the topic of multilingualism in Kyrgyzstan.

The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) is the largest and oldest among the 47 societies dedicated to comparative and international education worldwide. With over 3,500 members, including researchers, analysts, specialists, and students, the organization explores a broad spectrum of educational topics.

CIES members examine issues across various levels of education, from preschool to higher education and non-formal learning. Their research also covers subjects such as gender, ethnicity, linguistic diversity, and socio-economic disparities, as well as the intersections between education and cultural shifts, democratization, economic growth, globalization, and political conflicts.
