Visit to China: Discussions on Assembling Digital Learning Devices Under the Osh State University Brand

From April 7 to 12, a delegation from Osh State University, led by Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, undertook a working visit to China to explore opportunities for educational and technological collaboration.

During the trip, the delegation visited several institutions and companies, including Xinjiang Normal University, the Xinjiang Institute of Education, the Guangzhou Institute of Urban Planning, Smart Xiaowei Technology (AI-focused), Zhuhai Print Rite (2D/3D printing), Shenzhen Wangxingke (furniture production), Biolight Medical Technology, Shenzhen Edan Medical (medical equipment), and the Guangdong Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On April 7, at Xinjiang Normal University, they participated in a scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at Osh State University, reviewing the institute’s 2024 activities and discussing future plans.

On April 8, at the Xinjiang Institute of Education, discussions centered around specialist training in the arts, faculty and student mobility, joint research, establishing a practical lab for preschool education, and teacher training for children with special needs.

On April 9, the delegation held talks with Smart Xiaowei Technology in Zhuhai about assembling systems for fire safety, intercoms, energy conservation, and elderly care in Kyrgyzstan under the Osh State University brand, as well as co-developing software with the university’s IT team. That same day, they met with Zhuhai Print Rite to discuss local assembly of printer products and 2D/3D printers at Osh State University.

Further meetings with Biolight Medical Technology and Shenzhen Edan Medical focused on equipping the university’s clinics with modern medical devices, in collaboration with the university.

At Shenzhen Wangxingke, the discussion revolved around producing educational furniture and smart boards locally through Osh State University facilities.

The visit concluded with a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Rector Kozhobekov presented Osh State University’s transition to a “University + Production” model following its special status, highlighting ongoing efforts to establish manufacturing enterprises on campus. Both parties expressed a strong interest in further cooperation, with the Chamber affirming Guangdong’s openness to collaboration with Central Asia and Kyrgyzstan.

On April 12, the delegation visited the Guangzhou Institute of Urban Planning. They toured a 16-hectare educational and practical base, observed the training and certification processes for construction workers, and discussed the potential for building a similar facility at Osh State University.

The delegation included Toktosun Aitikeev, Director of the Confucius Institute, and Maratbek Abdykulov, Head of the Institute’s China Cooperation Development Center.
