Today, the first forum of rectors of higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan began at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after Batyraly Sydykov.
The solemn opening of the forum was attended by the State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic, Suyunbek Kasmambetov; former Prime Minister, Apas Zhumagulov; First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ulanbek Usekov; Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Komildjon Karimov; Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Musa Zhamanbaev; and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic, Hurshid Mirzakhidov.
Additionally, during the event, a monument to Batyraly Sydykov was unveiled. His outstanding professionalism and diplomatic efforts to enhance the unity between the two countries were highlighted.
The forum's work is aimed at promoting cooperation between higher educational institutions of neighboring countries and the implementation of joint scientific projects.
Around 70 rectors of universities and representatives of major educational organizations from both countries are participating in the event titled "Integration, Cooperation, and Innovation in the Higher Education System."
