Uzbek Language Day was marked at OshSU

On October 26, the Center for Uzbek Language and Culture at the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism of Osh State University, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Osh, organized an event called “Language Lives - Nation Lives”. This event was dedicated to the 34th anniversary of granting the status of the state language to the Uzbek language in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The festive event was attended by the Vice Consul and representative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Osh, F. Usmanov, A. Abdurazakov, the Vice-Rector for External Relations of Osh State University, K. Attokurov, the Vice-Rector for State Language and Social Work at Osh State University, Mastura Sharipova, the Deputy Chairman of the Uzbek National Cultural Center for the Southern Region, A. Atazhanov, Associate Professor at Andijan State Pedagogical Institute, M. Temirova.

Today, around 50 million people in the world speak the Uzbek language.
