In a dazzling display of lights, colors, and cultural exchange, the campus of Osh State University's “Ak-Buura” witnessed the vibrant celebration of Diwali on the International Medical Faculty. Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, is one of India's major festivals symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
Traditionally, the national holiday of Diwali is annually celebrated by students from India studying at the International Medical Faculty of OshSU. This year's festivities attracted notable guests, including Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ernis Toltoev, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Osh Region, and Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, the Rector of OshSU, along with faculty members and students.
In his welcoming speech, Edil Baisalov congratulated the students on the occasion and emphasized that Kyrgyzstan, as a legal and open state, creates all conditions for the development of national cultures and strives for global cultural and educational integration. He highlighted the significant achievements of Osh State University in fostering a genuine international family, comprised of thousands of students from both near and far abroad. The university has become a hub for the interaction and mutual enrichment of diverse cultures.
The festival provided a unique opportunity for all participants and guests to immerse themselves in the culture and traditions of India. The exchange of vibrant dances and the glow of Diwali lights fostered a sense of unity and appreciation for the diversity that enriches the OshSU community.
The event not only celebrated the triumph of light but also illuminated the shared values that unite people from different corners of the world, making OshSU a true melting pot of cultures and traditions.
