In his 69th year, we mourn the loss of Professor Georgy Belov, a distinguished scientist, Academician, and Honorary Professor, known for his significant contributions to medical climatology. Born on April 19, 1954, in Karaganda, Belov's career spanned 50 years, marked by over 60 scientific papers, a doctoral dissertation on mountain climate's impact on lung surfactants, and the founding of the Kyrgyz school of surfactant researchers. He left a lasting impact on therapeutic and prophylactic advancements.
Professor Belov trained 17 candidates of sciences, serving on three dissertation councils of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. His editorial roles included chief editorship of “Medicine of Kyrgyzstan” and membership in foreign journal boards.
His departure is a significant loss for Osh State University, where he led the Department of Morphological Disciplines, leaving a legacy as a role model for future scientists. Sincere condolences go to his family, students, and followers. His memory will endure in the hearts of those touched by his bright image.
