The Centralized Reading Hall Opens at the University

To celebrate the 85th anniversary of Osh State University, a ceremony was held to inaugurate the centralized reading hall at the university's scientific library. The event was attended by OshSU Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, rectors from other universities including Osh Technological University and Osh State Pedagogical University, representatives from the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University, heads of city libraries, representatives of public organizations, and OshSU students.

Attendees had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the facilities and capabilities of the reading hall. Additionally, the hall houses the STUDCLUB Center for Professional Individual Development of Students, the Scopus Research Center, and the Department of Electronic Resources.

The STUDCLUB Center focuses on two main areas: organizing training sessions and workshops to enhance students' personal development and hosting guest lectures by prominent personalities and scholars. It also facilitates an English conversation club for students planning to study abroad as part of academic mobility programs, with participation from foreign volunteers.

The Scopus Research Center provides all the necessary resources for faculty members engaged in research activities. The library's operations have been fully digitized, allowing readers to order and access necessary literature through smartphone applications. Electronic books can also be read using modern computers installed in the reading hall.

“OshSU is one of the leading universities in Kyrgyzstan. Its activities serve as an example for us, and we implement many of its initiatives at our institution. Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov always encourages us to work together. May the reading hall be filled with many readers and visitors,” said Osh State Pedagogical University Rector Bekmyrza Zuluiev.

The book collection at OshSU comprises over 500,000 volumes, including 3,000 electronic books, with the number increasing daily.
