Doctoral Thesis Defended at OshSU

Begimai Akbalaeva, a doctoral candidate in the Public Health and Medicine program at the Faculty of International Medicine, successfully defended her PhD dissertation. Her research focused on “Diagnostics, Treatment, Prognosis, and Prevention of Acute and Chronic Cardiotoxicity in Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy, Targeted Therapy, and Immunotherapy for Malignant Tumors”. The defense meeting was chaired by Professor Akpay Sarybaev, with Associate Professor Altynai Sadykova serving as the scientific secretary.

Her dissertation was supported by both domestic and international scientific leaders. Talantbek Batyraliev, a professor at Salymbekov University, president of the Association of Medical Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic, and a current member of the American College of Cardiology, along with Igor Pershukov, a professor from the Department of Health of the Bobrovskaya District Hospital of the Voronezh Region, endorsed her work, affirming that she is deserving of the Doctor of Philosophy degree in her specialty.

Following a secret ballot, the expert commission members unanimously decided to award Begimai Akbalaeva the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health and Medicine, code 560100.

The event was conducted in a hybrid format, both online and offline, with attendance from members of the expert commission, Professor Idiris Kenzhaev (one of the founders of the PhD program at the university), faculty members, staff of the postgraduate and doctoral studies department, the program director, and graduate students.
