Today, September 26, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kyrgyzstan Nicolas Faye visited Osh State University. The distinguished guest was met by the university administration headed by Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov.
At the meeting, Professor Kozhobekov informed the guest about the university’s activities, including cooperation with the French Embassy and French universities. The parties noted the dynamics in bilateral relations, discussed a wide range of cooperation issues and expressed their readiness to further strengthen and expand cooperation in the implementation of joint educational programs, academic mobility of lecturers and students. Along with this, they discussed the opening of a PhD doctoral program, centers for the study of the French language, and the introduction of French language teaching into the program for the specialty of tourism.
The Ambassador donated an interactive whiteboard to the university. Then the French diplomat met with French teachers and students studying French.
Mr. Nicolas Faye was appointed Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan on July 8, 2024.
It should be noted that OshSU has been cooperating with the University of Poitiers under a bilateral agreement since 2023. Currently, students study French in experimental groups. In 2 years of study, students will master the language at level B2, which will allow students to participate in scholarship programs in France.
