Osh State University and Tashkent University have announced plans to offer Kyrgyz and Uzbek as foreign language courses. This was revealed during a literary and musical event titled “Language - a Bridge of Interethnic Culture and Friendship,” held on October 21 at Osh State University. The event marked the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyz being recognized as a state language and the Uzbek language gaining the same status.

The evening was attended by notable figures, including Zafarbek Akhmedov, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Osh, Adilzhan Atajanov, head of the Uzbek Center for Kyrgyzstan’s southern region, and representatives from the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature and the Anzhiyan State Pedagogical Institute.

The program featured performances in both Kyrgyz and Uzbek, and academic presentations were given on the unique aspects of grammar and proverbs in the two languages. Additionally, the annual report of OshSU’s “Kyrgyz Language and Culture” center, located at the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, was presented.

This event aimed to promote friendship and collaboration between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, particularly in the fields of culture and education.
