A book dedicated to the victims of persecution in Kyrgyzstan has been published

Osh State University hosted a presentation of the book “Victims of Persecution in Kyrgyzstan: A Collection of Archival Documents and Materials” by Associate Professor and Candidate of Historical Sciences Joldoshbek Botonoev, Head of the Department of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies and History.

Plenipotentiary Representatives of the President in the Osh region, the mayor’s office of Osh, university rectors, scientists, teachers, and students attended the event.

Historians prepared essays about the book “Victims of Persecution in Kyrgyzstan: A Collection of Archival Documents and Materials” and debated about it during the event.

The book contains a vast amount of previously unpublished historical papers, materials, and other information about the Soviets' kulak dispossession, propaganda, and political persecution in the 1920s-1950s for the first time. The book is intended for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate students, historians, and a wide spectrum of history-interested readers. Great Mountains Publishing House published the book in 2022.

The author of the book is Joldoshbek Botonoev, head of the Department of Oriental Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies and History. Author of almost 30 tutorials, more than ten books, and more than 40 scholarly articles in oriental studies.
