Students from Osh State University's geography and tourism department recently joined an autumn forest planting effort in Jalpak-Tash village, Özgen district. This initiative, part of the "Kurbu-Tash Forest" project led by OshSU, aimed to merge practical field lessons with environmental action. Abdijapar Akkulov, Director of OshSU's Mountain Ecosystem Conservation Center, highlighted the campaign's focus on combating anthropogenic impacts, preserving mountain ecosystems, and addressing climate stability.
During the event, students received insights into the nation's green area expansion policies and investment prospects. Previously, Osh State University conducted research on landslide-affected areas in Kurbu-Tash, leading to the inception of the "Kurbu-Tash Forest" project. Over six years, the project has fenced 100 hectares of land.
