The Babur Musical-Dramatic Theater recently hosted festive event marking the 10th anniversary of the Confucius Institute at Osh State University.
Distinguished guests including Ms. Du Dewen, the Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, Rasul Abazbek Uulu, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ernis Toltoev, the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Osh Region, Nurbek Kadyrov, the Vice-Mayor, representatives from various Chinese and Kyrgyz universities, and the local community attended the event.
Ms. Du Dewen and Rasul Abazbek Uulu delivered welcoming addresses during the gathering. Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov highlighted the achievements and initiatives of the institute. He emphasized notable accolades such as winning the “Confucius Model Institute” project in 2015, being acknowledged as the “Best Confucius Institute” in 2017, and receiving recognition as an “Outstanding Test Center for the HSK Chinese Language Exam” in 2017.
Notably, the Confucius Institute at Osh State University stands as the sole institute in Central Asia authorized to confer academic degrees to students and postgraduates in specific disciplines.
The Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty specializes in nurturing experts in Sinology, linguistics, and philology. Graduates from this faculty have found successful careers in various international locations such as Dubai, Russia, and the USA.
Osh State University maintains partnerships with over 40 universities across China.
