On February 3, Osh State University inaugurated the Central Asian Spatial Analysis and Remote Computing Center (CASPARC). The opening ceremony was attended by the university’s rector, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, along with faculty members and both local and international scientists.

This is the first satellite research center of its kind in Kyrgyzstan and operates within the university’s Future Generation Hub. The facility is dedicated to collecting satellite data and conducting scientific studies.

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the center provides opportunities for participation in international projects and attracting investments. It also serves as a hub for scientific research and the training of specialists in satellite analysis and remote sensing. According to Rector, the center will support research associates, scientists, and PhD students in studying a wide range of topics—from the Earth’s crust to high-altitude regions. A key focus will be leveraging satellite databases to analyze climate change. The project has already secured access to multiple international data repositories.

At present, the center collaborates with over 25 prominent satellite agencies from the United States, Japan, China, Korea, and various European countries. Additionally, it will host scientific events in partnership with leading global research institutions.
