A new Mineral Resource Innovation Center (CAMRI) has commenced operations at Osh State University. The launch event was attended by the university’s rector, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, along with faculty members, department heads, and scientists from both within the country and abroad.

Kyrgyzstan, particularly its southern region, is rich in rare critical minerals, and the center aims to advance scientific research in this field while collaborating with international organizations through the use of satellite data.

The center provides opportunities for university researchers and PhD students to conduct studies, equipped with modern technology and specialized software. According to Sagynbek Orunbaev, a professor at the American University of Central Asia, the center will contribute to the growth of Kyrgyzstan’s investment sector. “Our country has significant reserves of rare minerals. This new center at Osh State University will facilitate scientific research, mineral exploration, and collaboration with international organizations and partners,” he stated.

The project is designed to support the sustainable extraction and utilization of mineral deposits in Kyrgyzstan, with a focus on environmentally friendly energy technologies. Additionally, the center will conduct comprehensive studies on the geological distribution and reserves of these resources.

During the opening event, experts presented scientific reports on topics such as satellite analysis, GIS, remote sensing, agronomy, and field ecology.
