From April 1 to 10, Osh State University, in collaboration with the State Commission on Religious Affairs, conducted a series of informational sessions across its institutes, faculties, and colleges to explain the provisions of the Law “On Freedom of Religion and Religious Associations.”

The sessions also covered topics from the Criminal Code, highlighting criminal offenses and relevant legal norms aimed at protecting young people from harmful ideologies, international terrorism, and religious extremism.

Participants received lectures on organizations classified as religious and terrorist groups banned by national courts, strategies used by international terrorist groups for recruitment, how to recognize signs of extremist activity among religious leaders, and measures to prevent students from being drawn into radical movements. The sessions emphasized the crucial role of parents and educators in supervising and guiding youth.

This outreach followed the recent enactment of the law “On Freedom of Religion and Religious Associations,” which was signed by President Sadyr Japarov in January 2025 after being passed by the Parlament on December 26, 2024.
