On the eve of Orthodox Easter, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Osh State University hosted an "Evening of Russian Culture"—a methodological Easter-themed master class aimed at preserving Russian folk traditions and Orthodox cultural heritage, particularly the celebration of Christ’s Easter.

The event was organized by Associate Professor Z.Ya. Miskichekova from the Department of World Literature, in collaboration with Russian educators participating in the International Humanitarian Project "Russian Teacher Abroad," under the auspices of the Russian Center of the "Russian World" Foundation in Osh.

First-year students, currently studying the "Oral Folklore" course, took part in the event, allowing them to enrich and reinforce their knowledge through hands-on cultural activities.

Participants engaged in traditional egg painting using various techniques. The process brought together students, teachers, and guests, all of whom enthusiastically took part.

The workshop included an educational segment on the symbolism of Easter, where the egg represents faith, renewal, victory over sin and death, and the rebirth of nature in spring. In this context, the yolk symbolized the earth, while the egg white represented the heavens.

Russian teachers working in Osh schools also introduced students to another important Easter symbol—the Easter cake.

For many aspiring teachers, the event offered a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate the cultural traditions of another people.

The evening also featured traditional games and folk amusements such as “Stream,” “Give the Ring,” and “Pass the Raw Egg,” along with musical performances prepared by the Department of World Literature.

At the conclusion of the event, the most active participants received honorary certificates from the "Russian World" Foundation in recognition of their efforts to preserve and promote the Russian language and cultural traditions, as well as their contribution to fostering interethnic peace and harmony.

The evening concluded with a warm tea party featuring Easter cakes and individually decorated eggs created by the participants.
