On 10 October, the opening ceremony of the Third International Symposium on the Life and Work of Sarakhsi took place at the Aichurek
The plenary session will feature presentations by Murteza Bedir, Chairman of the Turkish Islamic Research Centre, on ‘The Concept of Law from Debussy to Sarakhsi and Its Contemporary Significance’; Professor Baybolat Abytev of Osh State University on ‘Imam Sarakhsi – the legacy of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan’, and Dr Genzal Shenayla from Turkey on ‘The testimony of Sarakhsi and the political, social and cultural structure of his era’.
The symposium will be attended by Azamat Yusupov, Chairman of the National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations; Professor Mustafa Cevat Akshit, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GAIE Foundation; Mehmet Akshit, Chairman of the Foundation; Mahmud Gungor, Rector of Pamukkale University; Mufti of Kyrgyzstan Abdulaziz Kari Zakirov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at Osh State University Elzarbek Esharov, religious scholars and scientists.
The scientific forum was organised with the aim of conducting an in-depth study of Imam Sarakhsi's scientific legacy, discussing it in accordance with contemporary requirements, and strengthening scientific cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. The event will continue tomorrow, 11 October, at Osh State University.
The first part of today's events included a solemn ceremony marking the start of construction of the Imam Sarakhs Educational Centre in the city of Uzgen. During the ceremony, the Quran was recited and a time capsule was laid, symbolising the symbolic start of construction. The Imam Sarakhsi educational complex is funded by the Turkish GAYE Foundation and includes educational and social facilities that meet modern requirements.
