Osh State University is preparing to open a new Center for the Early Diagnosis of Oncological Diseases at its medical clinic.

The Center will serve as a major scientific and educational hub focused on advancing cancer prevention, diagnostics, and treatment in collaboration with leading universities in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.

The Center will develop modern educational programs in oncology, radiology, and medical informatics for students, residents, postgraduate researchers, and healthcare professionals. It will also establish data platforms and analytical systems using advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and bioinformatics. In addition, the Center will conduct public outreach aimed at raising awareness about cancer prevention.

Located on the first floor of the new seven-story university clinic—formerly the Osh City Clinical Hospital—the Center will be equipped with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and cutting-edge equipment for molecular-genetic and radiological research. Its mission is to support advanced scientific studies, introduce innovative approaches to cancer diagnosis and treatment, and train highly qualified medical specialists.

The establishment of the Center is part of a World Bank–funded project dedicated to strengthening research and innovation in the medical field. As part of this initiative, a delegation led by project manager Shiro Nakata visited Osh State University on November 13 and met with Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov. The delegation also toured the University’s Data Processing Center, Next Generation Center, and Medical Clinic.
