Our University has launched a new partnership with the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, located in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
Established in 2005, Alabuga is one of the largest special economic zones in Russia, focused on developing high-tech industries, attracting investment, and producing competitive industrial products. The zone covers a total area of 3,904 hectares.
Under the newly signed Memorandum of Cooperation, the two sides will collaborate in several key areas:
Implementation of dual education through the Alabuga Polytechnic Institute and Alabuga Start programs;
Expansion of academic mobility for students and faculty;
Creating opportunities for student internships and employment.
The agreement was formalized during a working visit to Tatarstan by an OSU delegation led by Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov on December 4–5. The delegation included Erlan Kamalov, Director of the Business Park; Mirlanbek Manashov, Director of the Industrial and Pedagogical College; Begaim Abdylakimova, Director of the College of STEM Innovations; Nurabidin Marazykov, Director of the Educational and Industrial Complex; and Tilek Umarov, Director of the New Generation Development Center.
During the visit, the OSU delegation toured the Alabuga region and the Alabuga Polytechnic Center. They visited the gym, assessment center, coworking spaces, laboratories, and training facilities established for students. The delegation also learned about training programs in Industrial Robotics, BIM Design, Chemical Analysis, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Safety, and Business Programming, as well as students’ practical work at enterprises in the region. In addition, they observed various technological processes in the production workshops.
