Year in Review: Gold Medal at the World Championship
The year 2025 became a year of success for the university.
Let us begin with the international arena. At the World Junior Championship (Under 20) held in Bulgaria, Yantoro Mirzaliev, a student of the Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism and Agrarian Technologies of Osh State University, won a gold medal and became the sixth world champion in the history of Kyrgyzstan.
Oskonbai Abdisamatov, a fifth-year student of the Institute of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering and Information Technologies, won a silver medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2025 Champions Cup. In addition, the university’s students achieved victories at world and Asian championships, as well as at international competitions.
In football, FC “OshSU” finished sixth in the Kyrgyz Premier League. The club received a Foton bus as a gift.
The reconstructed “Manas” Stadium in Kara-Suu was temporarily allocated to the team.

The volleyball team “University – OshSU” became the champion of the Higher League. The women’s team took second place in the National League and won the President’s Cup of the Volleyball Federation.
Meanwhile, the basketball club “University BC OshSU” also secured third place in the national championship. At the Universiade among universities of Kyrgyzstan, Osh State University ranked fourth in the overall team standings and won prizes in 10 sports. The university also took first place at the “Den Sooluk” sports festival among university staff.
