The VIT’OSS team of the Faculty of Medicine at Osh State University achieved success at the XXXIV International Student Surgical Olympiad held in Moscow, winning prize places.
The event took place on April 6–11 as the final stage of the Surgical Olympiad named after Mikhail Perelman. A total of 24 selected teams from leading medical universities of CIS countries participated in the competition.
The Olympiad covered various fields of surgery and included both theoretical and practical stages. Students demonstrated their knowledge in laparoscopy, cardiovascular surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, transplantology, traumatology, urology, neurosurgery, and oncology. As a result, the VIT’OSS team of Osh State University won third place in the craniotomy and “Pirogov Table” competitions.
The team consisted of 27 students from the 3rd to 6th years of the Faculty of Medicine. This achievement once again confirmed the international competitiveness of medical education at Osh State University.
