OshSU Researchers Conduct Study at Kempir-Abad

Researchers and lecturers from the Applied Geodesy program at Osh State University, together with scientists from the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, conducted a field study in the area of the Andijan (Kempir-Abad) Reservoir.

The research was carried out from August 21 to 25 as part of the Osh State University internal grant project titled “Construction of Artificial Glaciers Using Modern Geodetic Equipment.”

The main objective was to collect data needed to establish a first-order geodetic triangulation network that meets international standards. The network will provide a basis for high-precision geodetic measurements and monitoring changes in the Earth's surface.

During the fieldwork, the researchers used modern geodetic equipment to determine the locations of geodetic points, conduct measurements, and assess the accuracy of the collected data.

The results will be used to identify areas suitable for the construction of artificial glaciers, calculate their parameters, and conduct further monitoring.

The participation of an Osh State University student in the fieldwork provided practical experience in using modern geodetic equipment and collecting data under field conditions.

The joint research is expected to strengthen scientific cooperation between higher education institutions in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and contribute to the exchange of expertise in geodesy.
