Zhanbolot Tursunbaev was appointed rector of OshTU
Associate Professor Tursunbaev Zhanbolot Zhanyshovich, a candidate in technical sciences, was appointed to the position of rector of Osh Technological University named after M. Adyshev. The rector was introduced to the community by Almazbek Beishenaliev, minister of education and science.
Zhanbolot Tursunbaev graduated from the Kyrgyz Institute of Architecture and Construction in 1994 and began his career in 1995–1997 as a laboratory assistant at OshTU’s Department of Automobile Transport. In 1998, he enrolled in full-time postgraduate studies at OshTU, majoring in renewable energy-based power plants.
He served as a teacher at the Osh State University's department of electrical equipment and automobile transport and as the faculty's vice dean for academic affairs from 2003 and 2009;
His PhD thesis on renewable energy sources was successfully defended in 2005.
He was the head of the faculty of physics and technology's department of automobile transportation from September 2009 to November 2019;
He was the acting dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology from January to August 2018;
The director of OshSU’s development and investment department beginning in November 2019;
He has served as OshSU’s vice-rector for investments and strategic development since January 2021, as well as the correspondent member of Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
We extend our congratulations to Tursunbaev Zhanbolot Zhanyshovich on his appointment to a new post on behalf of the whole Osh State University community. We wish him well on his new endeavor.
