Osh State University recently held a grand award ceremony to honor the outstanding achievements in educational, scientific, and cultural endeavors during the 2022/2023 academic year. The event was a testament to the university's commitment to promoting excellence in academia, research, and community engagement.
At the ceremony, Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov delivered a congratulatory speech and emphasized the growing importance of research work within the university and the crucial role that the h-index plays in evaluating the faculty's performance. To incentivize academic research, authors of articles published in international scientific journals indexed in Scopus were offered one-time cash rewards ranging from 15,000 to 75,000 soms.
In addition, other accolades were presented to commendable faculty members, scientists, and university staff. Recipients of these honors included “Honorary Certificates of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic,” “Honorary Certificates of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic,” “Honorary Certificates of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic,” as well as badges of “Excellence in Education” and “Excellence in Science” awarded to exemplary individuals. The National Commission on State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic also recognized the university's efforts with the “Kyrgyz Tili” badge.
Furthermore, the ceremony celebrated the winners of the “Best Monograph-2023,” “Best Textbook-2023,” and “Best Educational and Methodological Guide-2023” categories. These publications, bearing the imprimatur of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, represented exceptional contributions to the educational literature and materials.
Osh State University also took pride in recognizing the hard work of faculty members who successfully defended their dissertations between 2022 and November 2023. These achievements are a testament to the university's dedication to nurturing a culture of academic excellence and supporting advanced research.
The top 10 authors of scientific articles published in Scopus-indexed journals of various ranks (Q1, Q2, and Q3) were presented with financial rewards ranging from 15,000 to 75,000 soms.
