Osh State University Master's Student Makes History as Asian Champion in Athletics

The women's national team of Kyrgyzstan achieved an extraordinary milestone at the Asian Championships in Dubai. For the very first time, they clinched the gold medal in the half marathon, covering a distance of 21.1 kilometers. This historic victory was made by the exceptional performance of Gulshan Satarova, a master's student at Osh State University.

Gulshan Satarova, a name synonymous with dedication and excellence in the field of athletics, has dedicated two decades of her life to the sport. Her remarkable journey culminated in her becoming the first Kyrgyz athlete to attain the coveted title of "Master of Sport of International Class" in track and field, a feat that underlines her exceptional talents and relentless commitment to the sport.

Her list of accolades includes being a two-time Asian champion, conquering the podium at various international tournaments, and securing a silver medal at the Asian Indoor Championships in Iran. Furthermore, she possesses a duo of gold medals in the 800 and 1200-meter races from an international tournament held in Malaysia.
