Furthermore, plans were solidified to implement “Cultural and Educational Days of Osh State University” in Sivas.
The agenda of the visit encompassed a comprehensive exploration of the veterinary clinic and research laboratories at the Sivas Cumhuriyet University. Discussions encompassed topics ranging from academic mobility and personnel training to collaborative research initiatives. Professor Abdugani Abdurasulov also delivered a guest lecture at the university, addressing the theme of “Animal Genetic Resources and the Advancement of Veterinary Services in Kyrgyzstan.”
A forward-looking initiative was unveiled during the visit, focusing on the enhancement of sheep and dog breeds in Kyrgyzstan through the transplantation of embryos sourced from “Kangal” sheep and guard dogs indigenous to the Sivas. Kangal sheep, notable for possessing 14 ribs, and Kangal dogs, renowned as shepherds and livestock protectors, are integral to this research endeavor.
Simultaneously, in collaboration with professors from the Kyrgyz-Turkish University “Manas,” the parasitology laboratory at Sivas University is presently engaged in the analysis of blood samples from 530 cows hailing from the Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions. This research aims to investigate the prevalence of theileriosis and other ailments affecting cattle. This collaborative academic venture signifies a concerted effort towards advancing knowledge and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between academic institutions.
