On July 16-17, the second forum of rectors from higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan took place in Samarkand, as reported by the Zarafshon newspaper. The event gathered university heads and faculty members from both nations. It was inaugurated by Kungirotbai Sharipov, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, and Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, the Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan.
During the plenary and sectional sessions, university leaders presented thematic reports focusing on various aspects of bilateral interuniversity collaboration. The forum facilitated a vibrant and engaging exchange of experiences and opinions. Additionally, significant cooperation agreements were signed between universities in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, the rector of Osh State University, participated in the forum and delivered a report titled “Integration of State Authorities, Academic, and Business Communities as a Factor in the Socio-Economic Development of the Region: The Experience of Osh State University.”
The forum proved to be an effective platform for fostering connections between the scientific and academic communities of both countries. It aimed at creating an integrated educational space and aligning the higher education systems of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
