Three Universities Unite for Conservation of Vegetation Diversity

Osh State University will collaborate with universities in the Fergana Valley and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan to conserve vegetation diversity. This was a key topic at the 2nd International Symposium on the Study and Conservation of Vegetation Diversity across Three Regions.

Associate Professor of General Biological Disciplines of the Medical College and Head of the Pharmaceutical Disciplines Commission Orunbek Kolanov and Head of the Botany Department Orozbay Mamatkulov from OshSU took part in the symposium.

Participants agreed to foster collaboration between specialized faculties, departments, and laboratories in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. They also discussed launching academic mobility programs for students and professionals.

Held from September 4-6, 2024, in Tashkent, the symposium was organized by the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. In addition to regional universities, scientists from China, Korea, Iran, Poland, Germany, Mongolia, and Russia attended the event.
