On October 22, Osh State University hosted a forum titled “The Role of Women in the Formation of Kyrgyz Statehood: Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow,” commemorating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast.
The event brought together representatives from regional and city authorities, educational institutions, women’s organizations, women entrepreneurs, mothers-heroines, as well as university faculty and students.
Professor B.K. Abytov delivered a keynote address on the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast, and attendees enjoyed a stage performance showcasing the contributions of active women. Speakers emphasized the crucial role women have played in the formation and ongoing development of Kyrgyz statehood.
A large exhibition of traditional crafts added cultural richness to the event, and the participation of women in national dress added a special charm to the forum. The forum was jointly organized by Osh State University, the Council of Women and Family at the Representative Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan in Osh Oblast, and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs. Several women were honored with certificates of appreciation for their contributions to the socio-economic development of the region.
