Students from Makarenko and Kirovskaya high schools in Osh recently participated in specialized training sessions on drug addiction, its health impacts, and prevention strategies.

The sessions were led by Amanai Akmatova, the head of the project “Fight Against Drug Addiction: Developing Measures to Ensure Public Safety in Kyrgyzstan”, along with project expert Dilaram Madaminova and Samat Kylychbek uulu, a senior lieutenant from the Ak-Buura City Police Department.

Held between November 13 and 21, the training was organized with the assistance of visiting students from the Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan, currently studying at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Osh State University.

The project, overseen by Associate Professor Amanai Akmatova of Osh State University, focuses on scientific research aimed at creating effective strategies for the prevention, detection, and treatment of drug addiction.

To date, the project team has conducted similar training sessions for students in five schools across the Batken region.
