In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic and International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9, a round table was held at the Department of Civil Law and Procedure of the Institute of History and Law at Osh State University. The event focused on discussing the challenges and promising strategies in combating corruption in the country.
The round table brought together notable attendees, including Osh State University’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Ruslan Arapbaev; Head of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption Risks, Absamat Sattarov; senior law enforcement officials; and students. Among the key speakers were Kudayar Baimatov, Senior Prosecutor of the Department for Combating Corruption and Law Enforcement Activities at the Osh Regional Prosecutor’s Office, and Talantbek Koichuman uulu, Senior Prosecutor of the Osh City Prosecutor’s Office.
Participants delivered presentations on pressing corruption-related issues and the role of law enforcement agencies, followed by a Q&A session. Absamat Sattarov highlighted ongoing university initiatives aimed at addressing corruption risks.
The discussions generated actionable recommendations on combating corruption, identifying root causes, and developing effective countermeasures. Participants also exchanged insights on state efforts to prevent corruption, enforce laws, and foster institutional collaboration.
The event concluded with an announcement of results from a competition among undergraduate and graduate students of the institute, where participants created social awareness videos on fighting corruption. The winners were honored with prizes for their contributions.
