Kimiya Torogeldieva, a senior lecturer at the Institute of Pedagogy, Arts, and Journalism of Osh State University, conducted training sessions for artisans from the Alai and Chon-Alai districts. Participants learned to create new handmade designs using locally sourced raw materials.

The training took place in the village of Sary-Mogol, with around 30 female artisans attending. As Sary-Mogol serves as the gateway to Lenin Peak, it attracts numerous foreign visitors during the tourist season. The women who completed the training now have the opportunity to craft and sell their products to tourists.

This seminar was part of a collaborative project with South Korea, aiming to utilize local materials to produce high-quality handicrafts for visitors. The initiative seeks to support the growth of Kyrgyzstan’s handicraft industry while promoting tourism.
