
The BATKEN 4.0 hackathon concluded on April 21 in Batken, with the AgroTech team from the Business Park of Osh State University earning second place for their digital project, the “Water Queue Management Platform.” The team was awarded a cash prize of 60,000 soms.
This platform, developed by members of the Osh State University Enactus team, is designed to manage irrigation water queues for farmers transparently and to streamline the rental process for irrigation sluices.
The event aimed to promote regional development in Kyrgyzstan, attracting around 90 startups from young people aged 18 to 35. Fifty of these startups made it to the semi-finals, with 15 advancing to the finals, where they presented their ideas, business models, and minimum viable products.
Organized by the Kyrgyz State Technical University in collaboration with the International Communications Association, the German Society for International Cooperation, Batken State University, the State Agency for Intellectual Property and Innovations under the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Geeks IT International Academy, the hackathon supports student and youth entrepreneurship while encouraging the implementation of digital solutions for regional development.
