From June 26 to July 1, 2025, a delegation from Osh State University took part in an international scientific expedition held in Nukus, Uzbekistan, and the Aral Sea region.

The delegation comprised Abdurashit Nizamiev, Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism and Agrarian Technologies; Mamatair Usen uulu, Acting Dean of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty; Guliza Momosheva, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Green Economy and Risk Management; and Zhanarbek Sultanov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economic Geography, Sectoral Economics and Tourism.

During the visit, the delegation visited Karakalpak State University named after Zh.M. Berdakh and held discussions on academic and scientific collaboration with Vice-Rectors T. Nurymbetov and I. Turdymambetov. Abdurashit Nizamiev delivered a guest lecture to faculty and students of the Faculty of Geography and Natural Resources. Additionally, researcher H. As part of the program, the team toured the I.V. Savitsky State Art Museum of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and viewed the world's largest yurt in Nukus—constructed by OROL AGRO LLC and officially listed in the Guinness World Records.

On June 28-29, the key part of the expedition took place with a research trip to the Aral Sea region. The group traveled 220 km from Nukus to Moinok, followed by another 120 km to the remnants of the Aral Sea. In collaboration with local scientists, they conducted field studies on the dried seabed, remaining brackish waters, local climate, tourism potential, geomorphology, and the flora and fauna of the Ustyurt Plateau.

Abdurashit Nizamiev noted that the scientific expedition offered valuable opportunities for sharing knowledge and expertise in climate change, ecology, sustainable development, and tourism.
