A textbook for teachers at Osh State University entitled ‘Research, Interpretation and Use of Terms in the Field of Sport’ has been published. Its initiators and authors are Bakyt Kuluiev, Zholdubai Aitkulov, Almaz Atabaev and Tairbek uulu Erlan.

The guide contains 105 terms in the field of sport, interpreted in the Kyrgyz language. The foreword to the book was written by Kabyldzhan Makeshov:

As a sports journalist who has been working in the world of sports for 40 years, covering 12 Olympic Games (seven summer and five winter) and six Asian Games live, as well as writing 20 books on sports, I know that each sport has its own terminology, and when describing it, it is difficult to explain its meaning in the Kyrgyz language. Therefore, since the 20th century, many new sports have appeared in the world, and with the gradual increase in the number of new terms, it has become difficult to explain their meaning clearly and understandably to sports fans and specialists. I am glad that these works have been translated by scholars at Osh State University into very accessible language. I am confident that this work will make a significant contribution to the enrichment of Kyrgyz terminology.

The textbook is intended for students studying physical education, sports journalists, teachers, and sports fans.
