The Student Spartakiad officially began today, November 22, at the Yiman School-Gymnasium of Osh State University.

During the opening ceremony, Rector Kudaiberdi Kojobekov emphasized that the competition will further strengthen students’ interest in sports. He highlighted the school’s achievements, the conditions created for student development, and wished success to all participating teams.

A total of eight teams are competing in this year’s Spartakiad, including athletes from the Bilim, Kara-Suu, and Nookat gymnasiums of Osh State University. The tournament features seven sports disciplines: football, volleyball, ordo, tug-of-war, armwrestling, toguz korgool, and table tennis.

The results will be announced later today, and the winners will be awarded cups, medals, and souvenirs. The Spartakiad aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among students, identify promising young athletes, and strengthen camaraderie between teams.
