Osh State University has officially launched the 33rd Spartakiad for its faculty and staff.
The annual event brings together teams from the university administration, institutes, faculties, and colleges, with participants competing in two age categories: under 40 and over 40.
The competitions will take place on weekends throughout December. Teams will face off in eight sports: volleyball, basketball, football, table tennis, toguz korgool, mini-football, tug-of-war, and chess.
During the opening ceremony, University Rector Kudaiberdi Kojobekov emphasized that the Spartakiad aims to promote health, encourage interest in sports, and strengthen unity and friendship within the university community.
This year’s Spartakiad is held in two leagues — junior and senior. The total prize fund is 240,000 soms, and the results will be announced at the end of the year.
