A research team from the Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies of Osh State University conducted a field study at the Tel-Kum site near the village of Taldy-Suu in the Alai region from November 28 to 30.
The purpose of the expedition was to examine the area's geomorphological structure, soil composition, biodiversity of flora and fauna, and the migration routes of bird species. The scientific team included Abdimanap Abdykaarov, Kutmanaly Stamaliev, Abdurashit Nizamiyev, Saparbay Abzhamilov, Bolotbek Karimov, Usen Atabekov, and Ulan Kamchiyev.
During the mission, the researchers identified the species diversity of plants and animals in the region. The collected materials are currently being analyzed in the institute’s laboratory and will be used to compile an official biodiversity inventory.
This fieldwork is part of a series of studies carried out in September and October of this year. The project was initiated following a request from BEK-Kyrgyz LLC, owned by Daiyrbek Idrisov, addressed to Osh State University Rector Kudaiberdi Kojobekov. The company is planning the construction of a 100 MW wind farm on a 100-hectare area in Tel-Kum and required scientific data on local biodiversity, including information about endangered species and migratory birds.
Osh State University scientists have completed their research and submitted the findings to the client.
