Representatives of the South Korean fund “Danwit” expressed interest in the project on the protection of the Kurbу-Tash Forest. On March 25, they visited the site located in the Jalpak-Tash rural community of the Uzgen district.
Abdijapar Akkulov, Director of the Consulting Center for the Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Green Innovations, briefed them on geological hazards, natural disasters, and environmental issues in Kyrgyzstan in recent years. He also detailed the work carried out under the project.
The parties discussed the possibility of conducting joint scientific research with South Korean scientists and specialists, as well as comprehensive assessments of natural processes using modern technologies. As a result, the “Danwit” fund representatives expressed interest in cooperation in this area.
The “Kurbу-Tash Forest” project was implemented in 2017. As part of the project, agroforestry reclamation and bioremediation were carried out in the Jalpak-Tash rural community of the Uzgen district to restore areas affected by landslides.
