On April 20, two new inclusive classrooms designed for teaching children with special needs and training teachers were officially opened at the “Bilim” secondary school of Osh State University.
The classrooms were fully equipped with modern facilities provided by the Chinese side. These included interactive boards, rehabilitation simulators, and innovative speech therapy and pedagogical tools.
This project was implemented within the framework of the “Xinjiang–Central Asia Preschool Education Alliance,” established on April 22, 2025. The alliance includes pedagogical institutions from Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. Its goal is to develop preschool and secondary education and create an accessible environment for children with special needs.
The agreement of the alliance was signed by Mukay Zharkynbek, Rector of the Xinjiang Pedagogical Institute, and Bakhtiyor Rasulov, Rector of the Andijan Pedagogical Institute.
In the future, this center is expected to become a platform for exchanging experience and developing joint educational programs among pedagogical institutions of the four countries. It will also serve as a foundation for opening inclusive kindergartens and centers across the region.
“Support from our Chinese partners and the modern technical base they provided will enable our teachers and students to apply international-standard teaching methods. This is a major step toward building an inclusive society,” said Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, Rector of Osh State University.
This investment from the Chinese side has become the first major infrastructure contribution in the field of inclusive education.
