Cultural and Musical Evening Held for State Language Day

On September 22, Osh State University’s Medical College held a cultural and musical evening titled “The State Language – A National Value and Pillar of the State.”

The event was attended by Mastura Sharipova, Vice-Rector for State Language and Social Affairs. She highlighted the importance of the state language in strengthening national unity, preserving spiritual values, and passing them on to future generations.

The festive event was organized jointly with the staff of Osh City Dental Clinic No. 2. During the evening, students studying Dentistry at the Medical College performed songs celebrating the Kyrgyz language, recited excerpts from the epic “Manas,” and presented traditional dances and instrumental music. At the end of the event, active participants were presented with certificates of merit and letters of appreciation.

As part of State Language Week, a number of events will be held at the university’s institutes, faculties, and colleges to promote the state language, ensure compliance with the Law on the State Language, and develop students’ speech and communication skills.

This year marks 37 years since the Kyrgyz language was granted the status of the state language. On September 23, 1989, the Law “On the State Language of the Kyrgyz SSR” was adopted, granting Kyrgyz the status of the state language.
