Osh State University (OshSU) and Tianjin Transportation Vocational College in China have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The agreement aims to train modern specialists in logistics and transport and establish a joint Luban Workshop.
The signing ceremony, held on October 14, was attended by OshSU Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov and Tynystan Pazylov, Dean of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty. The parties will focus on developing educational programs in logistics and transport process management, improving lecturers’ professional skills, and strengthening students’ practical training.
The project is also directly linked to the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway and the expansion of transport and logistics connections in the region. The Luban Workshop will help train qualified specialists in fields where Kyrgyzstan faces a labor shortage.
Cooperation will be developed in stages. The first stage will focus on training logistics specialists. The second stage is planned to cover electric vehicle maintenance and related modern technologies. Growing demand for electric vehicles in Kyrgyzstan is increasing the need for qualified professionals in this field.
Toktosun Aitikeev, the Kyrgyz director of OshSU’s Confucius Institute, also contributed to the development of the project. He has been working to advance cooperation in this area for the past year and a half.
The memorandum marks an important step toward strengthening OshSU’s international partnerships, integrating vocational education with industry, and expanding educational cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China.
During the visit, Kudayberdi Kozhobekov and Tynystan Pazylov also met with OshSU students studying in China.
