Nine students from the University of West Bohemia in the Czech Republic completed an academic mobility programme at Osh State University and received certificates.

The programme ran from September 29 to November 3. During this period, the students studied International Relations in Central Asia at the Higher School of International Educational Programmes. They learned about the region’s history, culture and geopolitical characteristics, as well as the traditions and daily life of the Kyrgyz people. They also exchanged ideas with local students and established friendships.

The certificate award ceremony was attended by Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, Vice-Rector for External Relations Kursantbek Attokurov, Director of the Higher School of International Educational Programmes Damira Akmatova, and Head of the International Relations Department Nazgul Radzhapova.

During the event, the rector noted that cooperation between the two universities has been ongoing since 2017. He emphasized that welcoming international students helps Osh State University expand its international relations, align its educational programmes with international standards and strengthen its position in international rankings.

Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov also encouraged the Czech students to share their experiences in Kyrgyzstan with people in their home country and inspire other students from the University of West Bohemia to study at Osh State University. He also expressed the university's interest in further expanding academic mobility between the two institutions.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Christian Stach thanked the university administration, teachers and students for their warm welcome and hospitality. He noted that visiting Kyrgyzstan had been valuable not only academically but also in terms of cultural and personal experience. He added that the students had learned about the country's history, language and traditions and made friends in Kyrgyzstan.

Cooperation between Osh State University and the University of West Bohemia has been based on a bilateral agreement since 2017. As part of this partnership, Czech students visit Osh State University every year. In April 2027, nine Osh State University students will travel to the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, Czech Republic, to participate in an academic mobility programme.
