Modern Technologies in the Conservation of Mountain Ecosystems
A scientific discussion was held at the Osh State University Satellite Remote Sensing Centre, focusing on the use of modern geoinformation technologies for the protection of mountain ecosystems in the context of climate change.
During the meeting, experts from Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan emphasised the need for joint research and the use of satellite data to monitor landslide-prone areas and for soil bioremediation.
The project, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic, aims to rehabilitate land affected by landslides, including the ‘Kurb-Tash’ site in the Uzgen District.
