Dual degree education continues between Osh State Medical University and Ural State Medical University

On August 11, a meeting was held at Osh State University with Alexander Osipov, Vice-Rector for Administration and Property Complex of Ural State Medical University (UrMSU), and Regina Khlynova, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Affairs.

The meeting was attended by Elzar Esharov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Roman Kalmatov, Dean of the Faculty of International Medicine. The parties discussed the ongoing dual degree education program between the two institutions and future cooperation.

Currently, representatives of Ural State Medical University are conducting a mobile admissions committee at Osh State Medical University and conducting entrance exams for candidates wishing to enroll in the dual degree program. On August 11, candidates took an exam in the Russian language. On August 12, an exam in chemistry will be held.

This admission format allows candidates to take entrance exams in Osh and communicate directly with representatives of the institution. Previously, applicants were accepted to the medical faculty of Osh State Medical University based on the results of the GRT.

During the meeting, representatives of Ural State Medical University got acquainted with the clinical facilities of Osh State Medical University and saw the conditions created for the practical training of students. The parties noted their interest in further developing the dual-degree education program, improving the quality of medical education, and strengthening the practical training of students. It was also agreed to continue work on expanding cooperation in the areas of residency and advanced training.

For information: The dual-degree education program of Osh State Medical University and Ural State Medical University has been operating since 2021. Under the program, students receive education in the specialties of medical practice and dentistry. They study for three years at Osh State Medical University and three years at Ural State Medical University. Students who successfully complete their studies receive diplomas from both institutions.

Currently, students are studying in the fourth, fifth, and sixth years of Ural State Medical University as part of the program. The first graduates have completed their studies and received their diplomas.
